By Cornelius Frump

You will find an almost unending array of ways to spend your time the moment you board your Hawaiian Cruise. You will be entertained and engaged by an impressive array of tasty restaurants, fun activities and amazing shows that will guarantee that your trip will not be boring. While stopped at the various ports you will find gorgeous scenery, shopping and exciting activities. You will have a stunning array of pastimes on your Hawaiian Cruise from beach activities to shopping excursions to taking in the sites in a year round pleasant climate.

It's always good to remember that while at sea good health care will be limited. Especially so if the cruise ship will be taking extended stretches in the open sea. In case of an emergency make sure that you bring along extra supplies of your important medications. Don't forget to confirm with your physician that your regular medications will not react poorly to any types of sea sickness pills. Although there is oodles of fun things to do on your Hawaiian vacation it is important to pace yourself and not to exceed your limits. Use common sense and only bring those medications you need to have. You will want to make sure that you are able to appreciate everything your vacation has to offer. Bring your basics and have a great time.

There are many smaller islands that make up the Hawaiian Islands and each one has its own flavor. While on the island of Hawaii you might want to visit the Kilauea crater. Be on the look out for the fire goddess Pele who is said to inhabit this extraordinary natural wonder. Honolulu is a paradise for those who enjoy great nature. For amazing natural beauty and water facilities visit Maui.

As our 50th State Hawaii has its own unique culture. The island of Hawaii was first settled around 1300 years ago. Each island in the chain has a different feel but all retain the spirit of Aloha. This culture is renowned in its hospitality.

So many people assume that a Hawaiian cruise is just sunshine and sandy beaches. You will need to bring along more than just you flip flops. You will certainly be enjoying the fine warm weather and stunning beaches however there are other events and ways to spend your time as well. Pack some tank tops shorts and a sundress or two. But bring along a long sleeved shirt and perhaps a pair of slacks. You may be surprised to run into cooler temperatures. It is always good to plan for the unforeseeable. Of course sun block and sun glasses are a must. You should also think about bringing a camera and some music to listen to as well.

Enjoy a Family Cruise This Season

By Chris L. Jensen

While cruises aren't a traditional kid-friendly vacation there are many that are themed for both adults and children, and some especially for spring breaking college goers. As the trend grows the options for families are becoming more available.

There is always a planned event for every person in the family with family cruises. Family togetherness is a premium and no one has a good reason to complain about being bored. Avoid the planned events and there is still always something to do on board. Pools are almost always brimming with toys or a trip to the arcade or media room and entertain anyone.

With the kids occupied parents can reconnect with each other and spend time having their own vacation. With supervision included at most activities the kids will give you nothing to worry about as you enjoy a romantic evening, some luck at the casino, or a stroll along the deck. There are several wonderful restaurants onboard for an adult night out. Then rejoin the children in time for some bowling or a trip around the roller rink.

When comparing companies, especially during the school holiday breaks do your homework. You have to ask specifically for a family style cruise. Not all companies make special plans for the kids on board for every boat shipping out. You won't want your pre-scholars getting mixed with the spring break college crowd. Inquire about the activities on board for all family members, and avoid a case of the borings.

On-shore activities are another thing to remember. Ask what you should take time for. Checking out the port cities along your trip is a great learning experience for the children, make them feel like the world travelers they are. The quality of your trip will be greatly advanced as you introduce your family to island life.

There are usually package deals for you to ask your travel agent about. Groups can often qualify for a discount, shop around for one. The convenience of the package deal will make your trip that much more relaxing, especially the all-inclusive ones. All-inclusive trips leave you without having to keep cash on hand, since you've pre-paid with the ticket aboard.

Enjoy your vacations and make sure to look for solid deals for Your Family.

Check Out Specialty Dining on Your Next Cruise - You Won't Be Disappointed

By Bruce A. Tucker Platinum Quality Author

A few years back my wife and I decided to go on a cruise to Bermuda for our wedding anniversary. Normally we would take a weekend trip somewhere within a reasonable driving distance, but in this particular year we really wanted to go on a cruise.

We chose the Royal Caribbean cruise line as our means for vacation for this particular trip. We chose Royal Caribbean because they offered a cruise to Bermuda from a local port within an hour drive from our house.

On most cruise vacations that my wife and I take we try to treat ourselves to something special. It could a massage, or an exciting excursion, but you can always count on us doing something as an added piece of excitement for our vacation.

This time we wanted to try something new on the cruise ship. On this particular Royal Caribbean ship they had a specialty restaurant called Portofino's. I understand that they have added this same restaurant to all of their new ships, and after having one dinner there I can understand why.

We considered this a treat because there is an added expense of $25 per person to dine at Portofino's. Some people asked us why we would pay to dine on a cruise ship when the food is included at sit down dinners and of course at the buffet. Prior to us dining there we thought the same thing, but then also thought to give it a try and experience it just once.

Dining in the specialty restaurant is far different than what you will experience elsewhere on the ship. When you walk into Portofino's it is similar to walking into a five star establishment. The waiters and waitresses are dressed to the utmost professional attire. That is not to say that the waiters and waitresses in other dining areas do not look professional, but Royal Caribbean makes the specialty restaurant help go a step further.

When dining you are given a menu of many choices of appetizers, salads, soups and main courses to choose from. Many differ from what you would find at your normal sit down meal, however there are also some familiar choices as well. As with your sit down dinner or buffet, it is still all you can eat, so if you wanted to try a couple different appetizers or entrees they will accommodate your request. The best part is they will scale down your order for the amount of food you eat (if you so wish).

In other words if you order two appetizers, lets say escargot and duck, instead of getting two full appetizer portions they will gladly split each down to a half serving size. I like this option as it makes me feel like I am not wasting food.

The restaurant also has floor to ceiling windows so you can enjoy the view of Bermuda (or wherever your ship is going/docked). Light sounds of classical music plays in the background and because space is limited the conversational noise from surrounding tables is very low.

Overall I would rate our experience at Royal Caribbean's Portofino specialty restaurant, on a scale of one to five where five is the best, a five. We received great food, excellent service and the ambiance was outstanding. Add all of this up and it far outweighs the nominal $25 cost.

We liked it so much that we recommended it to our friends. On their next cruise they tried it and absolutely loved it as well. Give it a shot I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Cruise Etiquette - Do's and Don'ts

By Amy Nutt Platinum Quality Author

A cruise can be the perfect way to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily living and just enjoy a week or two without responsibilities. Many people are a bit nervous about how they should act on a cruise ship though and are not sure exactly what is acceptable behavior. With that in mind, here are a few dos and don'ts to help you out.

Do

Tip your steward. This is only fair, considering that he or she will be working hard during the voyage to keep your cabin neat and clean. Stewards also honor special requests and can help you find items or places you need. The tip should be given at the end of the cruise and should amount to about $3.50 a day.

Tip the wait staff. When you eat in the main dining hall every evening, you will likely be assigned a waiter who will be with you for the duration of the cruise. Nightly tipping isn't expected, but you most certainly will want to give a tip at the end of the cruise, usually on the final night. How much is up to you, depending on the service of the waiter, but the norm is around $3-4 per day.

Be courteous. When you are polite and friendly with the crew, you'll find that they are far more willing to help you out than if you are always snapping orders at them. Be nice and they'll be nice right back.

Take the time to thank people. While on a cruise, you should still keep your manners about you and thank everyone who does something for you . . . even if they are being paid to do so. A simple thanks can go a long way.

Don't

Criticize everything. Yes, you paid good money to go on this cruise, but hopefully you did enough research to know what to expect. Relax and enjoy the cruise, rather than looking at the bad side of things.

Become a cruise stalker. While you are bound to make new friends on the cruise, it's one thing to get together for bingo and drinks, quite another to follow them around the ship all day! It's a good idea to befriend several people so you have a variety of friends to hang out with, even if you aren't with a partner.

Complain to random crew members. Cruise ships are usually big and if you have a complaint, you should go through the proper channels and not just pick someone at random who probably has no idea what you are talking about and can't possibly help you. Instead, speak to the manager of the area you are having issues with. For example, if your problem is with the waiter, speak to the head waiter.

Slam your cabin door. Taking a moment to close it quietly, particularly at night, will help keep the peace among your neighbors! The same goes for talking loudly in the corridor . . . it can really be obnoxious to fellow passengers.

Cruise ship etiquette is really like any other etiquette. Unfortunately, many people use this time to gripe about the service and weather and just be rude in general. Just because you are outside your normal environment, doesn't mean you should be able to act any way you please and it's a good idea to remember this when you choose to go on a cruise. You'll enjoy it a lot more, too, when the staff responds to you nicely because you've treated them well.

Six Cruise Ship Safety Tips

By Patrick Chong Platinum Quality Author

With cruises growing more and more popular, people are more concerned about things going wrong on their travels. That many people in one place seems like an ideal opportunity for thieves, and this combined with the risk of needing medical attention at sea can be off-putting. Still, if you pay attention to these cruise travel tips, you needn't have to rely on your cruise travel insurance to bail you out!

Watch what you eat and drink

As unlikely as it would seem, the best way of guaranteeing your health and safety on board a cruise ship is to practice a little moderation. With so many exotic food and drinks available on cruise ships, it's very easy to go overboard (hopefully not literally!) and gorge yourself on the options available. Firstly, remember that any allergies you had on land apply at sea, so watch out for these. Secondly, the affects of alcohol are that bit more pronounced at sea, thanks to the unsteadiness of the waves making accidents that little bit more likely to occur, as well as lowering your guard making you a big target for thieves.

While the water is almost certainly fine to drink on board ship, a whole different set of rules apply when you reach land - make sure you get bottled water only, and don't accept ice cubes. Another cruise travel tip worth bearing in mind is that you should keep an eye on the food when you reach land... if the hot Caribbean sun looks like it's taken its toll on any of the food, be sure to steer clear.

Keep a watchful eye on things

It should go without saying, but you have to keep a careful eye on your surroundings. When on holiday, the aim is of course to relax and unwind, but doing this lowers our awareness of things and it's very easy to let your guard drop. People on cruises are rich pickings for petty thieves, so keep your guard up and behave as you would if you were in a big city: don't walk down darkened corridors, don't accept drinks from strangers and it's best not to wander the ship alone, especially at night. Practice some vigilance and you should have no problems with cruise ship safety.

Look after you valuables

The best way of ensuring your valuables' safety on a cruise is to leave them at home in the first place! If you still insist on bringing some luxuries then treat them with care. The safe in your room should be sufficient for replaceable items, but if it's something that you simply cannot lose then use the ship's safe - this tends to be a lot more secure than the 'flimsy' room ones. And of course it goes without saying that cruise travel insurance is vital, to make sure that your valuables are covered should the worst happen.

Are you feeling lucky?

If you feel like a flutter when on board, feel free to enjoy the gambling facilities available, but remember that the money flying about is more likely than anything else to attract a criminal element. Take your winnings to the ship's safe periodically to make sure you don't have too much on you at any one time. If you win big, be sure to request an escort, and don't make a big deal of it unless you want to turn yourself into a walking cash machine for unscrupulous types.

Keep an eye on the staff

It's safe to assume that the majority of the ship's staff are hard working, above board and honest, but don't tempt fate. Wages on cruise ships can be very low, so keep your valuables locked up and out of sight. Most ships prevent staff socialising with guests, so if you are invited to a crew-only part of the ship it's best to decline. While the chances are it's just what it sounds like, it could be a ruse to get you away from the valuables in your room! Keep your guard up and watch for anything suspicious and you should have no problem maintaining your cruise ship safety.

Maintain an unofficial 'Neighbourhood Watch'

Keep a look out for suspicious behaviour and report anything that seems out of place to the staff - they can decide whether they want to take it further or not, but it's better to cause a fuss over nothing than to claim on your cruise travel insurance later.

These cruise travel tips may make you worry, but don't let them. Relax, enjoy your trip - but keep an eye on things, and you should not need to give any further thought to your cruise safety!

Singles Cruises! Your Valentine's Vacation Starts With a Few Nautical Tips

By William Parise Platinum Quality Author

As the owner and operator of BilMar WebPublishing Company, William can say that he is a well-seasoned web publisher and website designer, that truly enjoys ... ...

Singles Cruises are a great way to fulfill your single adventures, and with Valentines Day just around the corner, cupid may have a few cruising tips up his/her sleeve!

We know that many singles get frustrated this time of year when passion and love hits the air with a fury, and they find it difficult every year to get out into their community to find that ultimate Valentine's Day date.

Some reasons could be that you're too shy, or you just don't have the time to meet people because of work, or personal commitments. So for all the singles struggling to find your special date, I suggest you save all your pennies, because a cruise vacation may be what the singles cruise doctor ordered!

When traveling alone you're complete strangers to everyone on a singles cruise, so normally many men and women tend to let their personal guards down during their vacation time, and become more relaxed and carefree.

This new attitude allows you to meet new people comfortably, and you become more open-minded and adventurous. While you're having fun encountering all your new acquaintances, you never know, this may be the moment you finally connect with your soul mate. For all the people who actually met, and fell in love with their special partners while on vacation, you know exactly what I'm talking about here!

Singles cruising has become extremely popular and affordable, and many single men and women take vacations by themselves because it provides them freedom, privacy, and offers them unique and exciting adventures of the unknown.

If you enjoy the hot sun, sandy beaches, and flowing rum punch, a Caribbean singles cruise may be the one for you. If you're a hopeless romantic, art lover, and enjoy relaxing while sipping on a glass of fine red wine, then possibly consider a European cruise. Whatever you desire, there's a vacation cruise right for you, and possibly someone waiting to meet you!

Sold on a singles vacation cruise? Here's Two Tips To Remember

Cruise Lines do acknowledge the growth of single travelers, and especially around Valentines week, they may provide special singles rates, unique singles events, and Valentine related activities. All you have to do is a little research on which Line out there offers the best singles special, and a few that come to mind are Royal Caribbean Cruises, Carnival, and Norwegian.

If you have never cruised with any of these ships before, you will come across specific terms in the industry that you should know in order to make sure you don't get confused on any of the offers the select Cruise Line's provide.

Tip #1: Individuals that are traveling alone will be subject to a single supplement charge. All cabins in most cases are based on double occupancy, so what Cruise Companies do to compensate for a stateroom not occupied by two people, is adding a supplemental charge for only one person in a room. It's not uncommon to see 150% or higher on top of the double rate, so it could get a little pricy!

However, during a promo or ship special, look out for the Cruise Lines that waive this additional fee, where if you tell them you're traveling as a single person, you will pay for the double rate, but they will place you in a stateroom with another person of the same gender. This program is called "Single Share", or something similar.

The second offer I mentioned is more common, and in my experience (no guarantees), they usually don't find a match, and you end up getting your own cabin. Good deal if it works out that way, but for some of you having a roommate might be interesting and fun!

Tip#2: Check your local newspaper, or go online directly to some of the exclusive cruise suppliers, and see if there are any group-cruises blocked for Valentine's week, or for any other week that you desire. There may be a Singles Club that has already pre-booked space, and is selling it to their current members and to the public.

By joining a group "Theme Cruise", you're still traveling as a single, but you get the advantages of the discounted savings, or reduced single supplement fees. They will also coordinate fun interactive singles activities, such as a singles night at the ship's bar, nightly dinner match-ups, and singles tour excursions, which is personalized for casual, and no pressure mingling.

The best feature traveling with a large group, is you're cruising with people that have a common interest; they're all single searching for love!

Review of Norwegian Gem Transatlantic Cruise Barcelona to Boston

By Ellen Mcnulty

A solo cruise on the Atlantic in December was just what I needed - no phones, no emails, and just many days of lazing around, doing whatever I liked on a brand new ship.. Just perfect!

Launched: 2007 Passengers: 2,384 Registry: Bahamas Tonnage: 93,000 Crew: 1,154 Decks: 15

Since I was traveling solo, I was determined to be outgoing, although that is not my nature. When we arrived at Barcelona Airport, I talked to anyone who looked like a likely prospect for the same cruise. I met Pat and Mike, a nice couple from Connecticut, who had spent the prior week in India, at their son's wedding. They did not like India, and were pleased to be back in civilization. I met another fellow, and then a very proper looking American fellow, none of whom wanted to share a cab to the ship. (Too much luggage, I was told). 20 euros later (with tip), I was at the docks of the sparkling Norwegian Gem. The decoration that look from afar to be flowers on the hull, were gems. I should have guessed that. No fanfare, no lines, and within 5 minutes I was through the duty free area and on board.. The decor was more subdued than most NCL ships, thankfully. Still all turquoise, blue, melon and burgundy was everywhere. The carpet pattern in the hallways is ocean like, and I was later told, the carpet dolphins swim towards the front of the ship to aid in finding your way.

It was 5PM by the time I boarded. I met with our Cruise Critics in the Star Bar at 6PM. A nice bunch of people, but I had the good fortune to sit at a table with two English couples, Wendy and Mike, and Ken and Jean. They were friendly and welcoming. I discovered that Wendy and Mike now lived in Florida, and the other couple in California. After an hour or pleasant conversation, they invited me to dinner, but I declined. I was still dressed in jeans, the one outfit that is not allowed in the fancier dining rooms. They recommended the Blue Lagoon, and I had some good Tex-mex food there. The evening entertainment in the Stardust Theatre was a singer- dancer replica of Sammy Davis Jr, whom I did even like when he was alive. I stayed for the whole show, though and won $54 in an instant win game (Like Lotto scratch off cards) .

Day 2 I really wanted to sleep all day, but with a meet and greet party at 1030, that wasn't possible. All 103 Cruise Critic people were there, and we met some of the staff. I met a few more people whose names I knew from the board. Always nice to associate a face with a name. An art lecture (and one free print later), a Red Hat Lady meeting where I seemed to be the only participant the dinner with Ken and Jean. Ken excused himself and Jean told me her very interesting life story until the wee hours of the morning. Mine is not an eighth as interesting! Everything from the daughter of a chip shop owner, to a single mother after a failed marriage to finding her way to America with her second husband Ken and her then teenage daughter.

Day 3. I slept so late that I missed breakfast. I went to the gym, but with a massive headache, I felt sick and lasted there only a few minutes. I walked by the outdoor pool, and the sunshine was warm, even though we were now in the Atlantic. Bingo for 40 minutes, and I left $35 poorer. A VERY L O NG art auction brought a second free print, but not much else.

Day 4 Funchal our only port of call. Madeira is a jewel rising from the Atlantic with poinsettias on TREES, beautiful orange cone like flowers - aloe. And bougainvillea. The island features a long steep climb to top with volcanic peaks, and Nuns Valley below. It was a beautiful day. At the top of the toboggan run, an accordion player in a white outfit with a Madeira hat entertained us while we waited a few seconds for our sledge to arrive - a two seater flanked by two men in white with jaunty straw hats. The toboggans or sledges were fun, When the slowed or stopped, the men added wax to make them run over slow spots. The photo taken en route showed two large sized women, crammed into the sledge with mouths open. I bought a brightly colored Madeira hat and football jerseys featuring the local hero, who apparently plays for Man United. We returned to the ship just before it left.

Day 5 I was scheduled for a bowling tournament, but arrived ½ hour after it started. What a concept, bowling at sea. The waves did nothing to help my score. We each threw a ball, and the next person finished the frame. My team was easily eliminated on the first try. The highlight of the day was the murder mystery dinners. We were assigned to teams of 6, each with the same story, and led to the Grand Pacific dining room, where we acted out our parts. I played Holly Day, a billionaire's wife on vacation in Hawaii. It certainly kept the conversation going during dinner.

Day 6. Today's evening entertainment, a comedy troupe from Second City were excellent. Ship - excellent, spacious, always being touched up, even only 6 weeks after 1st sailing.

The rest of the journey was blur. I read 3 ½ books. I slept well. The weather on board out on open deck was warm enough to just wear a long sleeved shirt - no coat or vest needed. My overall impression: Food excellent Specialty restaurants Teppenyaki very good (like a Benehana) and the Italian La Cucina was excellent. Do it yourself laundry on board. Entertainment varied, some just okay, some excellent. Room stewards efficient and made fun towel animals nightly.

I would definitely travel on the Norwegian Gem again, and would not hesitate to do a trans-atlantic cruise, even in the dead of winter.

Cruise Ship Speaking - Lessons From an Actual Cruise (Pre-Cruise Preparation) - Part 1

By Daniel Hall Platinum Quality Author

Note to reader: This series is derived from the program notes of a video production intended for my current Med cruise. The article presumes that you are already approved with cruise line enrichment programs and you are in the process of developing at least one new destination driven program. Such is my experience this cruise. Make sure to check out Parts 2 & 3 of this article series.

Cruise ship speaking is hugely rewarding. Not only can you get free luxury travel but it is also a great way to promote you and your business ashore. To really do it well and succeed there are some things that need to be done beforehand. This article covers some of those details you'll need to prepare for pre-cruise.

If you are cruising to a new destination and need to develop a brand new destination driven program specifically for the new itinerary consider:

1. Before you start work in earnest make sure that you have ran your new program idea by your contact at the cruise line. No sense putting any effort into the topic if it is a flop before you start. Important note: If you want to know why destination programs are so important and how you can put them together even if you are not an expert in the destination then check out my program Speak on Cruise Ships: 8 Easy Steps to a Lifetime of FREE Luxury Cruises at the resource box below.

2. Make sure to give yourself plenty of preparation time. To pitch the cruise lines on your new destination topic all you need is a catchy title and bullet points written in the specific way I outline in Speak on Cruise Ships. But once you have the go-ahead with your topic you'll need to finish any research you may need to really make your destination topic shine. There is no substitute for good preparation which can take some time. Give it to yourself.

3. Now research to your heart's content. When I first started it usually took me two to three days to complete the research for a brand new destination talk; now it takes me about 90 minutes.

4. Once I have my research completed I then craft my presentation into the finished product that I deliver onboard. If the presentation lends itself I usually use PowerPoint for my presentations but only following these guidelines.

a. Words only appear in the title (three words max.).

b. There's an appropriate picture on every page that conveys the message for the main points I wish to communicate.

c. I don't read from PowerPoint I only use it to augment what I am doing from the stage and I keep the focus on me as the speaker.

d. Generally speaking 22-24 PowerPoint slides gives me enough material to cover 45 minutes. Note: There is usually an additional 15 minute question and answer period after your program.

5. On every new program I do I practice at least once before I deliver it onboard. Even if I'm very familiar with the content I'll still gather up my family members and do the presentation for them. This is a good way to work out any bugs and also test-drive the time it takes you to do the program. Time onboard (or with any speaking gig) is crucial. If you are given an hour you take at max 60 minutes and not a minute over.

Using these tips will make you pre-cruise activities more effective and drastically increase the probabilities that you will succeed once you climb aboard.

Cruise Ship Speaking - What to Expect the Day You Board (Part 2 Lessons From an Actual Cruise)

Texas attorney Daniel Hall is the author of the upcoming book "The Ultimate Guide to Second Chances: Legal Ways to Erase or Hide Your Criminal ... ...

Note to reader: This series is derived from the program notes of a video production intended for my current Med cruise. The article presumes that you are already approved with cruise line enrichment programs and you are in the process of developing at least one new destination driven program. Such is my experience this cruise. Make sure you check out Part 1 & 2 of this series.

First, you'll make your way to the port. Once you arrive at the pier you will proceed to the "pier coordinator" or some such other like titled person. You will present your speaking contract that you probably received two months to two weeks before your cruise. Your contract usually has a booking number and the pier coordinator will check to make sure you are on the ship's manifest. You'll sign on and be given keys to your cabin.

Once you arrive in your cabin you'll usually find a letter for you on the desk or bed. Open and read this letter. It will welcome you onboard and provides directions about when and where to meet with the cruise director or someone form the cruise director's staff. This meeting will generally be scheduled for later that afternoon or evening.

You'll probably be tired after your journey. So take the opportunity to freshen up before the meeting. Arrive on time. Here's your objectives:

1. Be cordial and charming. Take the opportunity to ingratiate yourself. Let them know that you are flexible and offer to do another program if they need. Let them know that you are aware that their plans may change or bad weather may cause a port to be missed so they may have need for another program or a repeat of a previous program. Emphasize with the needs of their position and make it clear through your actions and words that you are there to make their job easier.

2. Confirm your equipment needs if you have any i.e., projector, etc. Also, confirm whether an AV person will be there to assist you.

3. Plan out the logical sequence of when you will conduct your talks. For example, that a destination talk on Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is planned for the day before your stop there and so on.

4. Last, make sure to obtain the beeper or telephone number of the person you are meeting with in case something goes wrong either before or during the talk.

5. Now enjoy your cruise...

That's it for this installment. If you are still not approved to cruise with onboard enrichment programs. What are you waiting for? Thomson Cruises offer five different ships on which to sail, all are well equipped, spacious and stylish, each offering unique qualities depending on the preferences of the passengers.

The newest ship to the Thomson Cruise fleet 'The Calypso' is dedicated to over 16 year olds only, which ensures that who wish to travel as a couple, single or older family can enjoy their cruise without young children running around! This also means that The Calypso is Thomson's smallest ship which provides a more personal style of service and reflects the more traditional approach of cruising, with fixed sittings applied for dinner if waiter service is required.

Evening entertainment is varied with a choice of live bands, popular game shows and midnight cabarets as well as quiet cocktail lounges and bars. The Calypso travels to destinations 'new' to Thomson Cruises which are more unusual such as Sevastopol, Crimea.

A fourteen night cruise which departs from Liverpool, UK aboard the ship 'Celebration' on day one is an ideal for cruise for those who prefer not to fly prior to joining the ship. The ship sails through the night to arrive in Waterford, Ireland, for a full day in which to explore this medieval town famous for its crystal and glassware. Days three and four are spent at sea enjoying the onboard amenities which include whirlpools, a sports deck including basketball and table tennis.

The ship has separate amenities for children with a kid's zone as well as duty free shopping, a library and lounges with internet access for those who wish to keep in touch with the news! All of this, as well as soaking up the sun can be enjoyed while cruising in style to Lisbon, Portugal where the ship arrives in time to spend the morning and early afternoon discovering the delights of Portugal's capital city. Passengers rejoin the ship mid-afternoon and are cruised through the evening and night to disembark in Malaga, Spain for a full day's sightseeing or relaxation.

Day eight sees the ship arriving in Gibraltar, where it is beautifully warm, with many places of interest to visit, including Gibraltar's famous Barbary Apes. The ship then cruises through the night in style arriving in Casablanca, Morocco just after breakfast where optional excursions ashore enable the traditions of this vibrant city to be sampled. An early evening sailing from Casablanca to Portimoe, Portugal begins the return journey up the Atlantic coast calling at Porto, Portugal and La Cormna, Spain for two days of exploration and discovery. Day thirteen is spent at sea relaxing and enjoying the onboard amenities. The ship arrives in Dublin, Ireland at breakfast time on day fourteen and remains in dock for a whole day, giving plenty of opportunity to sample the delights of this cosmopolitan city. An overnight sailing brings the itinerary to a close on day fifteen with disembarkation in Liverpool.

This all time favorite Thomson Cruise is taken onboard Thomson 's luxurious 'Celebration' ship where the days at sea or after a day's sightseeing the two-storey health and beauty spa is the ideal place to indulge in some well-earned pampering.

Cruise Ship Review - Review of the Carnival Freedom

By Robert Deveau

The Carnival Freedom is one of the newest and largest ships in the entire fleet. In addition to the huge screen on the lido deck, this review of the Carnival Freedom will also discuss the many amenities available inside the ship. The sheer size of this vessel, with a gross tonnage of an astounding 110,000, makes sea sickness far less likely than some of the older and smaller ships.

Carnival cruise ships "fun ship" fleet is usually designed mostly with fun and partying in mind, but in this case, this ship will also appeal to the more luxury minded and those looking for better service. Excellent service is a luxury not always found on a Carnival cruise ship but the Carnival Freedom is the exception.

Formal night in the dining room will greet you with an excellent filet mignon but do not forget the Sun King Supper Club. This is an additional dining room that will require a reservation and a mandatory additional gratuity, but it will be well worth it. The service in the supper club far exceeds even that of the dining room and so does the cuisine.

Let us not forget the fun part of the "fun ships". The Lido deck will greet you with an enormous 12 X 22 foot screen that you will enjoy poolside events and movies by starlight. In addition, it two pools, the Timeless Pool and the Endless pool as well as the ample water slide will ensure that the outside portion of your cruise is just as rewarding as the inside.
If cruising is your thing, and you want a big vacation on a little budget then you need to see this information.

Cruising the Mediterranean

By Rebecca Robbins Platinum Quality Author

Have you ever wanted that taste of Europe but not the hassles of visiting the different countries by land? Try taking a Mediterranean Cruise. Mediterranean cruises generally sail from May to October although some do sail from late April to early September and a very few sail year around. Before you begin to book your cruise, choose a ship that has an itinerary that will suit your needs and has everything that you are looking for.

Carefully plan and choose your shore excursions and other city tours, because if you plan to book them independently you will need to have to have some cash converted to that country's exchange rate. It is wise to consider booking your excursion through your cruise ship giving you the opportunity to see the same sights and saving you a little money and you won't have to deal with the exchange rates. You will however need that country's Euro if you plan to purchase souvenirs while in port. Money can be converted onboard ship and any that you don't spend can be converted back to the U.S. dollar when you re-board ship.

Cruising in the Mediterranean in the fall is a perfect time to miss the entire summer tourist traveling abroad. Depending on your itinerary, the fall weather is generally pleasant but check with the weather service for fall weather conditions to the cities and ports that you will be visiting.

If choose your Western Mediterranean cruise you will visit the major cities in countries such as Spain, Italy and France as well as intriguing and exciting Monte Carlo. An Eastern Mediterranean cruise will take you to enticing countries such as Greece, Turkey and some of the Aegean Sea Islands. The longer Mediterranean cruises will take you to both the Western and Eastern Mediterranean.

By Bahar Ozturk

What is Gulet?

Gulet is an all wooden motor sailing yacht built for cruising the coasts in the calm warm waters of the Mediterranean. The meaning of the Gulet name is derives from the French goelette that mean schooner. The classic Gulet is best known for its low-to-the-water profile and roomy hull, rounded aft.

Bodrum and Marmaris are the cities in Turkey famous in gulet building. The building process nearly takes one year.

The Turkish "Gulet" is a traditionally designed wooden motor sailor. She has the heritage of those ancient boats which sailed across the Aegean and Mediterranean seas for thousands of years. The original gulet has the rounded aft but also flat backed style Gulets (Ketch) are existing.

The living areas of a Gulet is consisted of a saloon, some of them have closed aft instead of a saloon and cabins. Charter gulets have more cabins then private use gulets. But the cabin size increases in private Gulets. Charter gulets are easily convertible to private use cabins.
